I consider this question all of the time: is Hollyleaf dead? Because her death hasn't been fully proved at all. The disappearance of Hollyleaf into the tunnels was witnessed, but her death has not been proved. There are many clues which guide us to the conclusion that Hollyleaf isn't actually dead:
- In the 3rd Omen of the Stars books, Jayfeather finds a pile of herbs outside the camp, and he has no idea how it got there. I can't remeber what the herb was, but I found out that the herb that was there was the first herb that Hollyleaf learnt. This could be Hollyleaf's way of telling her brother that she is alive.
- In the 4th book, Ivypool and another cat explore the tunnels and there is no sign of Hollyleaf apart from a tuft of fur. Also, there is a cat watching them in the shadows, but it is too dark to know who it is.
- There has been a great absence of her in StarClan and the Dark Forest.
-Nowhere in the book has it actually mentioned that Hollyleaf was killed, only disappeared into the tunnels.
So what do you think? Is she dead, or lurking deep in the shadows...
