((Bahaha! Her kit dies! I feel mean.))

Bloodleaf watched down from above at his brother, wishing he could come back just to say goodbye. "Brother!" He mewed desperately.

Blackleaf stiffened, he had the strange feeling that he was being watched.

As soon as Talonshadow reached the entrance to the cave, he realised by the emotion in the air that something had gone terribly wrong. "What's happened?"

Sleekfur looked at Pebbleshade with pain and sympathy in her eyes. "Pebbleshade..."

"Where are my kits?" Pebbleshade dashed towards Sleekfur and gazed around frantically.

"Pebbleshade," Sleekfur began, gathering her courage, "Rainkit is dead."

Falconstar leaped up onto the high ledge. "May all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the high ledge for a clan meeting!" She yowled.
She waited for the cats to gather before she continued. "Summitfall, Sixclaw, Stonepool, Grayspots, Blackleaf, Eagleclaw, Plumfeather, Sleekfur, Jaywhisper, Lionpaw, Brightpaw, and Hailflower. We're leaving for the gathering now." She finished as she leaped back down and led the cats out of the camp.

Leafkit sat at the end of the clearing while Falconstar called the names, when she didn't hear Cliffpaw's name called out she padded over to him, ever since the Great Shiver half a moon ago they had grown closer, both having lost littermates that day.

"I'm sure you'll be able to go next time," she mewed as she sat beside him.

"I'm fine here, Leafkit," Cliffpaw replied. "We can hang out together."
Plumfeather nudged her only kit. "Be safe," she whispered, before following the gathering patrol out into the (what season is it again?) air.

"Okay," Leafkit mewed. "What should we do?"

He looked up at the cave ledges and shivered. Anything but that... he thought.
He watched the clan leaving for the gathering. Lots of cats would be out, including his mother.
"let's go for a midnight adventure! Not too far from camp, so we are in earshot of the camp if someone calls for us, then we won't get in trouble!"

"Okay!" Leafkit mewed. "Catch me if you can!" she bounded away, she knew Cliffpaw was larger than her and possibly slower.

Cliffpaw's longer legs carried him faster than Leafkit, but he slowed by her side, although she was still surprisingly fast.
"You'll be able to catch the fastest rabbit ever when you're a warrior!" He told her.

Leafkit blushed from the praise, "thanks!" she mewed and licked her paw.

"Dont become medicine cat," he said, without thinking.
"I mean... Well, um..."

Leafkit shook her head. "Don't be silly, Sixclaw already has an apprentice," she mewed.

((teehee I think I know what you're implying with that statement :P))

Cliffpaw nodded in agreement. "That's true. Now let's go down here! Be care Fil it's slippery. Bite onto my tail and hold onto it if you feel wobbly." He said, leading her down the cliff edge, a waterfall filled with starlight flowing down and spraying them with glittering spots. "Or we can go a different way?"

"We can go a different way if you want to, I don't mind," Leafkit mewed. "The waterfall's so pretty!"

Cliffpaw nodded in agreement, and curled his tail around Leafkit. He felt like he was in StarClan, and the fact he was with Leafkit made it all the more real.
"It's beautiful. Maybe we should just rest here tonight?" He purred.

Leafkit closed her eyes and purred. She leaned against Cliffpaw. "Mmm hmm.." she nodded with agreement and purred gently.

((Yup, she's purred twice.))

With Leafkit's warm body against his, he quickly fell into a deep, comfortable sleep...

Leafkit quickly fell asleep to the sound of Cliffpaw's rhythmic breathing.

Onewing woke to the sound of the returning cats of the gathering. She looked over to Pebbleshade- when she realised that she had been at the gathering. Then... where was Leafkit? Sitting up, her full belly swaying, she started to worry.

Cliffpaw woke and looked up. The moon was still in the sky, but had nearly set. They had fallen asleep! He prodded Leafkit. "Hey, Leafy, we have to get back!"

Leafkit hopped back up onto her paws. "What? Are they back?"

Pebbleshade padded into the nursery and saw Onewing up, she looked worried. Then she looked around again and swayed with worry. "Where's Leafkit?"
